Steps to Become a Safe Families for Children Host Family

Volunteer Application - your form will then be submitted to the site nearest your location.

Training - Safe Families training videos are available online.  The videos are set up through the SFFC database, and we will get your account set up so you can view these trainings.

References - you will be asked to provide personal references who know you and can attest to your strengths.  We strive to place SFFC children into homes of mature and loving Host Parents.

Hear about how your church can impact vulnerable families by being a Safe Families church.

Background Check/Fingerprinting - once your application has been submitted, a Safe Families representative will contact you about running the various background checks required by the state.  Safety is a high priority with Safe Families for Children, and all of our volunteers and staff undergo the same backgrounds screenings.

Home Visit - once the application, references, and background screenings are complete a Safe Families staff or trained volunteer will schedule a home visit.

Approval! - you will receive your approval status either by phone or email.  Once Host Families have been approved, a Safe Families staff or volunteer will reach out to you as a need arises in the community.
