Our New Extended Family

First day with glasses!

First day with glasses!

“At the beginning of August, we took two little boys into our home—rushing our home inspection that afternoon in order to be qualified to take them. We were not prepared at all, but isn’t that when God always shows up?

We have three boys of our own, and the two new boys just slipped right into our family. It has been absolutely amazing watching the local church being the body of Christ. We have received gift cards for groceries, meals prepared for a family of seven, clothing donations, and even two bikes—all from our church family!! We had an on-going joke for a  while that we never knew what would be on our deck when we got home!

We were not prepared at all, but isn’t that when God always shows up?

What an honor it is to see the love pouring out of our sisters and brothers for these kiddos, giving what they can and serving how they can to love on our newly extended family. We even have friends from church going to pick up the boys’ mom on Sundays to bring her to worship with us.

It is scary and hard to take in children with unknown ‘baggage’.

It is scary and hard to take in children with unknown “baggage”. But Jesus is all about the scary and hard stuff. We’ve had to navigate a lot of unknown territory, but what a blessing it all has been for us and our children. And what a platform to show faith in action!”

What a blessing it all has been for us and our children. And what a platform to show faith in action!
