Marie Francis Irish: a life in ministry

One of the great privileges I have had in ministry was getting to know Marie Francis Irish. It was God’s prompting on Ernie and Marie’s heart that was the vision and establishment of the Baptist Children’s Home. I will always feel it is our pleasure and privilege as a ministry team to walk in the trail that they so capably blazed.

I do not think we can improve on the foundation they have laid, but we can extend it to more orphaned, needy and dis-advantaged children. In getting to know Marie, I could not help but to sense her faithful, motherly love and concern. Today, so many children need that kind of compassionate love and care.

We were honored to be able to attend Marie’s 90th birthday party. She and her three children, Bill, Ernie, and Becky, told us of stories and wonderful memories they all had at the Baptist Children’s Home.

I am pleased to let you know that our founding vision is still unfolding as God continues to raise up loving servants to care for so many deserving children, now well over 900 children throughout the world (United States, India, Myanmar, Liberia, and Nepal). We ask for your ongoing prayers and support as we seek to extend the ministry that Ernie and Marie founded for the glory of God and for the salvation and nurturing of children.
