We had recently suffered from a flood in our Mount Pleasant, Michigan group home—the Bellows Home.  The flood waters were ankle deep in the lower, furnished level of the home.

In the early 1960’s, the newly built Michigan gym provided a great indoor facility to provide year round recreational opportunities.  Fifty five years later, our houseparents and children continue to reap the benefits daily. 

Presently the children’s bunk beds are made of wood and, as much as one would like to defend against bed bugs, the bugs hide in the joints of the wood.

Elizabeth is from the small village of Yangon. Her parents are poor
farmers. She has one older brother and two younger siblings. Her
parents cannot afford education for the children.
